Though Brandon is often called the “art and soul of Vermont” because of its concentration of artists and galleries, most notably the Brandon Artists Guild, there wasn’t a place where locals could take art classes or just come to make art.

The storefront had been inactive for a while. Right next to what is now The River Pub & Grill on Center Street, it had been at various times Liza Myers’s art gallery, the Vermont Sandwich Shop, and the Pale Horse tattoo and piercing parlor.

The end of an era in Brandon: Blue Moon Boutique on Center Street will be closing this summer so that owner Allie Walter can devote her energies to a new full-time position at Safer Society, also in Brandon.
