Democratic leaders, candidates, and their supporters packed into Red Clover Ale Company in Brandon on Sunday afternoon, despite the intense heat both inside and out.

The Rutland County Republicans held a breakfast fundraiser at the VFW in downtown Rutland on Saturday morning. Dozens of people showed up bright and early to meet candidates and enjoy coffee and eggs with old friends in local politics.

For many years, Mike Christian has played an important role in promoting Vermont Maple to the greater New England region through the VMSMA booth at the Eastern States Exposition (“The Big E”) in West Springfield, Ma.

The Brandon Public Library will be forced to close from Aug. 6-16th due to staffing shortages caused by threats issued to their staff.

“We’re consistently not sure if we’ll have the numbers,” said BFD Chief Tom Kilpeck, referring to the size of his crew. “We’ve got 23 people on the roster, but we can rely on maybe 15 or 16 of them to actually come out on calls.”
