Community service is part of Vermont culture: everyone pitches in however they can to make this brave little state work. Few embody this as fully as Charles “Butch” Shaw, who has decided after 15 years as a State Representative to pass the legislative torch.

At the regular Selectboard meeting last Wednesday, State Representative Butch Shaw (Pittsford-Proctor) announced his decision not to seek re-election to another 2-year term in November.

The Brandon Selectboard convened for its regular meeting on Monday evening. Among the items on the agenda were a potential Scouts parade for veterans, a repeal of Brandon’s one-acre Act 250 policy, and a letter of support for a private solar array.
