BRANDON — Police were occupied with several domestic disturbances in the past week, two of them resulting in arrests.
Officers responded to a report of a domestic assault at a Church Street residence on Dec. 5. The investigating officers arrested Michaila C. Lussier, 36, of Brandon, with 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault. Lussier was lodged at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail/surety bond. She was cited to appear in Rutland Superior Court-Criminal Division on Dec. 8, at 12:30 p.m. for arraignment. Shortly after the incident, police were called to another disturbance on River Street, but no criminal violations had occurred.
Middlebury Police requested the assistance of the Brandon Police on Dec. 10 concerning a male that had called the suicide hotline from a residence on Brookdale Street. The responding officer checked the residence the subject was allegedly located, but found that the house number did not exist in that neighborhood.
Later in the day family members brought a female family member to the Brandon Police Station for an intervention due to her alleged chronic drug use. The investigating officer advised the family that even though their intent was to help the woman, they could not force their family member to get drug treatment against her will. The officer attempted to offer the woman services, but she left the police station without accepting any help. A report was made to DCF concerning the matter as there were children involved in the situation.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on River Street on Dec. 11. There Patrick J. Shores, 61, of Brandon, was charged with the offense of Criminal Threatening. Shores was released on a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court- Criminal Division on Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. for arraignment.

Took fingerprints for nursing licenses, a cannabis registry and school coaching.
Stopped a motor vehicle at the intersection of Franklin Street and Nickerson Road and issued a ticket.

Responded to a verbal dispute on River Street.

Determined that an alarm at Pine Grove Organics on Grove Street was false.
Responded to a minor two-car motor vehicle crash with no reported injuries in the parking lot of the Neshobe School and documented it for insurance purposes.
Took fingerprints for carry concealed weapons permits.
Conducted a background check for a BRAVO volunteer.
Received a report of possible animal poaching on Mulcahy Drive and patrolled the area. No activity was found.
ON DEC. 7
Took fingerprints for LNA license.
Assisted a partially blind woman who was having some difficulties using her phone.
ON DEC. 8
Received a report of a car and a deer colliding on Route 7 near Van Cortland Road. There were no injuries to the operator and occupants. It was later determined that the crash took place in Pittsford.
Received a report of a suspicious male wearing a Carhart jacket walking around a parked vehicle near the Heritage Family Credit Union on Franklin Street. Police found no one matching the description in the vicinity.
Stopped a young driver on Cram Road in Leicester for failing to maintain lanes and following too closely and strongly advised him about his driving behavior. The operator was issued a warning.
ON DEC. 9
Responded to Forest Dale Road, just south of the Neshobe Elementary School, for a report of a two-car motor vehicle crash with no reported injuries. One vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage to it.
Attended an athletic event at Otter Valley Union High School on Franklin Street.
Enforced speed on Grove Street.
Stopped driver on Grove Street for speeding and issued a warning.
Enforced traffic regulations at the intersection of Park Street and Franklin Street. One vehicle was stopped for defective equipment.
Stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Marble Street and Park Street for defective equipment. Warning issued to the operator.
Patrolled Center Street on foot.
ON DEC. 10
Stopped a car at the intersection of Conant Square and Prospect Street for a stop sign violation and found that operator had a criminally suspended driver’s license. John Adams, 30, of Rutland City (VT) was issued a citation for Operating with a Criminally Suspended Driver’s License.
Helped the Brandon Area Rescue Squad with a lift assist on Old Brandon Road for an elderly male that had fallen at the residence.
Received a motor vehicle complaint of a possible drunk driver on Grove Street that was tailgating the vehicle in front of it.
Assisted the Pittsford Police Department with a robbery that had just occurred on Route 7.
Patrolled around Champlain Farms on Grove Street.

Aided two individuals with a welfare check on a former roommate.
Responded to a two-car crash on Grove Street with possible injuries.
Responded to a domestic disturbance on River Street.
