A public hearing on the construction of a hut near Silver Lake in the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area is set for next Wednesday, June 8 at 6 p.m. in the downstairs area of Cafe Provence.

Even with temperatures in the high 80s on Memorial Day, the opening day of Proctor’s Skating Rink drew a packed house with a DJ providing live music and free hot dogs and ice cream sundaes to the more than 100 skaters who filled the rink.

Gov. Phil Scott signed a tax cut package into law Friday that will send $1,000 for every child 5 and under to Vermont households making $125,000 or less.
