Obituaries

Eugene “Barney” Coursey, 76, of Island Falls, passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife, Martha, by his side on June 11, 2023.

She enjoyed playing the piano and fishing with her husband. She loved animals, flowers, and dancing.

Kenneth William Dukette, age 79, passed peacefully, on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

She had been a cook at Otter Valley Union High School for over 20 years. She retired in 1998. She enjoyed Bowling and arts & crafts.

Among many things, Kelly enjoyed going to Silver Towers Camp in Ripton, listening to music, especially The Beatles, and giving whomever she could a joke or a laugh in her own special way.

Ray had many who cared for him and will be especially missed by his friends: Oren Rhodes, respite provider Jane Browe, and guardian Mindy Hammann. 

Although not a fan of the colder climate, she supported George’s desire to move to Vermont, a place he loved, and develop a homestead there on his land in Sudbury.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting and word search. She was a member of Hubbardton Grange and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Her family was her life.

He attended local schools and graduated from the Rutland High School, Class of 1961.

Ron had a great (mischievous) sense of humor, quick wit, and could recall stories long forgotten
by others.
