The Vermont Basketball Coaches’ Association announced last Thursday the selection of the Dream Dozen girls’ basketball teams.

“These are the 12 best underclass (non-seniors) players in the state of Vermont,” Dave Fredrikson, executive director of the VBCA, said. “These are the players that will be leading their teams next season.”

The Dream Dozen girls’ teams will be formally introduced March 23 at the Senior All-Star Games at Windsor High School. The Division 3-4 Girls will be announced at 11 a.m.

Allie Almond was a key player in Proctor’s playoff run.

From Proctor, Allie Almond was named to the team. Almond is a junior guard that will be expected to lead her team back to Barre next season in her senior year.

As a sophomore, Elizabeth Bailey helped her team win the state championship.

For West Rutland, both Kiera Pipeling and Elizabeth Bailey were named to the team. Pipeling, a junior forward, will be hoping for a repeat of this season’s state championship trophy for her senior season. Bailey, a 6’1” sophomore forward, was a dominating presence for her team this season and will look to do more of the same next year.
