West Rutland continued the school’s improbable run to a possible state championship by coming from behind to top rival Proctor at Proctor’s softball/baseball complex on Tuesday afternoon. 

The Hurricanes took advantage of a wind-blown fly ball and turned the misplayed fly ball into four runs in the top of the eighth to pin yet another tough defeat on the home team.

After leading 7-5 into the bottom of the sixth inning, the OV baseball team saw its lead vanish in the final two innings as Rutland rallied to win.

The Proctor Phantoms softball team came from behind twice to defeat arch-rival West Rutland.

BFA would score the game-winner with only 1:15 remaining on a crafty short side shot by Bryce Fontaine. 

Proctor softball came from behind to beat Green Mountain, 14-9, on a cold and windy afternoon, Thursday, April 28 at the Phantoms’ field.
