HEIDI ADAIR YOUNG

BRANDON — Heidi Adair Young, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2021, at her home in Brandon.
Heidi was born in Westfield, N.J., on Dec. 6, 1955. She was the daughter of Thomas and Jane (Gilpin) Young, Jr. She moved to Brandon with her family in 1964 and graduated from Otter Valley Union High School, class of 1973. She went on to graduate from Castleton State College, with a degree in Art History.

In her earlier years she had worked in the family business, Conant Square Inn and Restaurant. She later worked as a manager at the Brandon Inn.

Heidi was a life-long artist and crafter who often made works for her beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She loved reading and baking. For several years, she wrote a weekly column for the town paper.

Heidi loved animals, in particular horses and dachshunds, and had many of both throughout her life. Her puppies were her much loved children. She and her dogs participated in many of Brandon’s town parades. Heidi was known for her dark humor and wit. She was a kind, thoughtful and a true individual. She was loved and will be missed.

She is survived by her miniature Dachshund, Willow; two brothers, Thomas O. Young III of Rockport, Maine, and Clinton G. Young of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Jane Young Anderson of Brownfield, Maine; several nieces and nephews (Lindsay, Sarah, Clinton Jr., Mary Jane and Tom IV), as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
