Otter softball raises money for new scoreboard

By RUSSELL JONES

After a successful season that saw them reach the state finals in Castleton, the Otter Valley softball team is already looking toward next season with a new scoreboard at Candon Field, where the Otters play their home games.

Thanks to donations from individuals and local businesses that tallied over $6,500, the Otter softball team was able to purchase and pay for the installation of the electronic scoreboard this fall.

“It will be nice for the spectators to keep track of calls, innings and scores at all times,” said Hannah Sessions, mother of the team’s shortstop Livia Bernhardt.

After the season they had this year, the Otters should be a force on the field next season and thanks to the new scoreboard, fans will be able to see just how well they are doing inning-by-inning.
