The Otter Valley baseball squad is rolling through their playoff bracket, looking nearly unbeatable. They took on Bellows Falls on Friday, May 31, in Brandon and took care of business, winning in five innings by a score of 10-0.

Senior Josh Beayon threw 92 pitches in a four-hitter, giving up two walks and tallying eight strikeouts. Senior Reilly Shannon was the big bat for the Otters with three of OV’s 11 hits in the game, but Bellows Falls also committed four errors in the third that translated into six Otter runs.

This is a mature team led by Beayon, Shannon, Nate Hudson, Jack Adams, Patrick McKeighan, Kollin Bissette and Marcus McCullough, a group of seniors who have played together since they were children. They were on the state championship team in 2017 and judging by the way they are playing, look determined to be champions again.

The road to Centennial Field will go through Brandon, as the Otters host Harwood on Tuesday, after The Reporter’s deadline. A win will take them to Burlington for the finals against either Enosburg or Fair Haven. (Check the Brandon Reporter’s website and Facebook page for post-game results.)
