DANBY — A West Rutland teen, Hannah Todd, 19, was involved in a single-car accident when she served to avoid a deer in the road.
State troopers report that Todd was driving on Lilly Hill Road in Danby at approximately 5:57 a.m. on Aug. 8 when she swerved in an attempt to miss a deer in her 2008 Honda Civic. She missed the deer, officers reported, but went off the road and hit a tree causing substantial damage to the left fender and front bumper. Todd suffered minor chest pain but escorted herself to Rutland Regional Medical Center for treatment.
