Brandon Town Manager resigns
After the public portion of its meeting on Monday evening, the Brandon selectboard went into executive session to discuss a “personnel matter.” By Tuesday morning, that matter was no longer a secret: Dave Atherton, Brandon’s town manager since 2015, had announced his intention to resign, effective February 21.

State Champions! West Rutland battles Proctor down to the wire, 57-56
The West Rutland Golden Horde girl’s basketball team won the school’s second state championship in Division IV girls basketball in the past four years by defeating rival Proctor, 57-56, at the Barre Auditorium this past Saturday.
Otters oust Oxbow, 69-38, in state playdown opener
