Vermont’s U.S. Representative, Congresswoman Becca Balint, visited Brandon on Wednesday, August 20, to hold a discussion about democracy at the Brandon Free Public Library and view the flood-mitigation infrastructure that Brandon installed after the devastation of Tropical Storm Irene.

Yoga is a set of ancient practices, with origins in the Indian subcontinent thousands of years ago. The word itself means “union” in Sanskrit and is related to the English word “yoke,” in the sense of “to join together.”

The Brandon Selectboard convened on Monday evening for its regular meeting.

It’s rare when the same family owns the same house since the mid-1800s, and rarer still when that house was also the village doctor’s office for almost a century and a half.
