Proposed signs for ‘no truck braking’ rescinded in Brandon
On Monday, the Brandon Select Board rescinded their vote to approve the placement of four signs suggesting to truck drivers that they should not use engine braking when driving through town. The original vote took place on Sept. 27 and was unanimous.

GET READY: VT minimum wage jumps to $12.55 in 2022
The Vermont Department of Labor has announced an increase to the State’s minimum wage. Beginning January 1, 2022, the State’s minimum wage will become $12.55 per hour. This is an increase of $0.80 from the current minimum wage of $11.75.
RNESU: Yes, schools are stressed, but they’re dealing
To say schools across the state are stressed is an understatement. That they are in crisis is a more accurate description, and one that school officials don’t shy away from. But in doing so, it’s not to say that academic progress is not being made for a vast majority of the students.

A deep Otter Valley wrestling team walked away from last week’s 50th annual Hubie Wagner Invitational Tournament in Middlebury as the team champions.

Early on the visiting Otter Valley girls’ basketball team on Friday looked determined to take it to Middlebury, using tough man-to-man defense to force a batch of turnovers and a balanced attack to bolt to a 11-4 lead after one period.

Several members of the Otter Valley Union High School Division III football team, as well as members of the Division I Middlebury and Division III Mount Abraham-Vergennes football teams, were named all-stars in voting by the leagues’ coaches.
