A shockwave ran through the town of Pittsford on the morning of Thursday, June 9, as news spread of an ongoing community threat and a lockdown at Lothrop Elementary School.

The Moosalamoo Association and Vermont Huts Association, alongside the U.S. Forest Service, held a public information meeting about a proposal to build a hut on the east side of Silver Lake.

The town has already investigated the bioswales and old storm drains nearby and has reviewed water usage records to try to find a leak. They’ve been able to rule out a sewage issue, but are still unable to point to anything specific that might be causing the problem. 

Barn Opera’s founder and Artistic Director, Josh Collier, recently posted a video on Barn Opera’s website detailing his “tough-but-necessary” decision to cancel this spring’s in-person performances.

For the past two years, St. Thomas’s churchgoers have gathered on Sundays, rain or shine, from 1-to-1:30 p.m. to hold a silent vigil against racism.
