On Saturday morning the 8 covered bridges in Rutland County will be decorated in Yuletide greenery. Starting at 9 a.m. at Sanderson Covered Bridge in Brandon, wreaths or balsam sprays will be hung to greet holiday travelers.
From Brandon we’ll proceed to Pittsford to Hammond, Depot, Gorham, and Cooley covered bridges, in that order. Then to Twin on East Pittsford Road, Kingsley in East Clarendon and last, but in no way least, Brown Covered Bridge in Shrewsbury. We expect to be at Brown between noon and 12:30 p.m.
This event has been organized by the Rutland Chapter of Vermont Covered Bridge Society. Volunteer labor has been donated by Brandon Florist Shoppe and O’Raine and Sun Painters in Rutland. Monetary donations were collected at Pittsford Craft Show on November 12, and we thank everyone.
