“Adulthood: Trick or Treat?: How Young Adults Stole Halloween Just as Adulthood was Stolen from Them”

October 27, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Sheldon Museum presents “Adulthood: Trick or Treat?: How Young Adults Stole Halloween Just as Adulthood was Stolen from Them,” a talk by Dr. Linus Owens, Middlebury College Professor of Sociology.

Dr. Owens will examine how Halloween reflects young adults’ responses to contemporary challenges and opportunities. Traditionally a night for children, Halloween has recently become a major holiday for young adults.

It provides a powerful lens for studying how emerging adults respond to the shifting economic and cultural constraints and opportunities facing young people.

Free and open to the public. The talk takes place at the Ilsley Public Library. For more information, go to www.henrysheldonmuseum\events or call 802-388-2117
