In place of our usual feature on local kids’ artwork, Our Creative Kids, this week we’re visiting the Brandon Artists Guild for their annual Student Art Show, featuring dozens of works by kids through the RNESU district.
Time Machine: Around the world by horse & buggy
On an obscure shelf in an obscure cabinet in the Brandon Free Public Library lay a coral-pink announcement for an event that took place in Brandon on July 24, 1907: a trip around the world by horse-&-buggy “boat,” leaving from the “Brandon Inn Pier” and traveling to Ireland, Germany, Italy, Japan, and America, all for the extremely reasonable price of 50 cents (approximately $15 today).
7th-grade OV girls’ hoop beats Rutland at home, 22-19
The Otter Valley 7th-grade girls’ basketball team had a terrific home game against Rutland on Friday, February 10.
OV wrestling takes third in state championship
Otter Valley wrestling added another notch to its belt this year with its third-place finish in the state dual-meet championship at Springfield High School on Saturday, February 11.
